Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia Gynecomastia, which means female-type breast enlargement seen in men, negatively affects the appearance of the person. It can be seen in one or both breasts.
There can be many reasons for the formation of gynecomastia. Such as hormonal disorders, weight loss/gain, regular medication, alcohol and drug use and some types of cancer, etc.
Gynecomastia Types
⁃ Breast tissue induced (glandular gynecomastia)
⁃ Fat tissue induced (lipomatous gynecomastia)
⁃ Both breast and fat tissue induced (mixed-type gynecomastia). The most appropriate treatment for a gynecomastia on excess fat tissue is liposuction. Excess fat inside are taken out by entering through two apertures of 1 cm. For a gynecomastia on excess breast tissue, liposuction is not enough. The mammary gland is reduced with a moon-shaped incision under the nipple. Gynecomastia surgery is performed under general anesthesia.
The operation takes approximately 1 hour. The patient is asked to stay in the hospital for 1 night. The chest corset starts to be worn immediately after the operation. The patient should continue to use this easy to wear corset for 6 weeks.
