Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation Breast augmentation surgery is a surgical technique performed for reasons such as correcting the shape of the breasts or augmenting their fullness.
The most common reasons are:
⁃ Augmenting the size of natural breasts
⁃ Correcting asymmetry between breasts
⁃ Restoring breast volume lost due to pregnancy, weight loss or breastfeeding
⁃ Having a better body proportion and feeling good. While planning the surgery, the decision is made by considering the patient’s height, shoulder width, chest cage width and her request. Accordingly, the process to be performed and the material to be used are selected.
There are 2 different prostheses in terms of shape.
1. Drop-shaped (anatomical) prosthesis
2. Round prosthesis
The diameters of the round prostheses are equal to each other horizontally and vertically.
In drop-shaped prostheses, the upper part is less filled than the lower part and it is called as anatomical because it is more similar to the shape of the breast.
Breast augmentation surgery is performed under general anesthesia. It is performed with a 4-5 cm incision in such a way that the breast remains in the lower fold. The operation takes approximately 45 min-1 hour. The duration of hospital stay is usually 1 day.
After the breast augmentation surgery, the patient returns to her daily activities in 4-5 days. However, the activities that require intensive use of the chest muscle and arms should not be done for the first 3 weeks. It is recommended to wear the bra with a corset for 6 weeks.
* Breast augmentation aesthetics does not eliminate sagging breast problems. If you want your sagging breasts to be fuller and eliminate the sagging, you should prefer breast lift and augmentation surgery together.
