NIPPLE SURGERY
ABOUT THE SERVICE
Cosmetic plastic surgery encompasses significant procedures on the face, breast, and body that yield noticeable results. However, when it comes to the chest and breasts, the focus is often on the smallest and most central anatomical area – the nipple and areola. The areola is a small circular area, specifically the ring of pigmented skin surrounding the nipple. Areola reduction surgery is performed by removing a circular portion of the outer brown area of the areola and then drawing the surrounding skin inward in a purse-string manner to encircle the areola.
Medical research indicates that the average diameter of an adult female’s areolae is approximately 38.1 mm. However, our doctors will consider your breast size and shape, as well as your desired appearance, when determining the appropriate size. Individuals choose to undergo cosmetic surgery to enhance the shape, size, and position of their nipples and areolae. If you’re self-conscious about the size of your nipples, the dark area surrounding them, or both, request a consultation with Catch Life Aesthetic. We will develop a surgical plan tailored to your specific concerns, aiming to help you achieve a more appealing nipple and areola appearance.
Before the procedure, a detailed medical history is taken, and the patient is examined. The patient’s expectations, information about the surgery, preoperative photography, and postoperative results are evaluated together. No hospitalization is required. After making the necessary measurements, appropriate drawings are created to ensure symmetry. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia in an outpatient setting. A three-dimensional raised nipple is created by folding the patient’s own tissue on the reconstructed breast using suitable methods. The process takes about 30 minutes, and a special dressing is applied afterward.
Postoperatively, the area is kept covered for 24 hours, after which the patient can bathe with special tapes. There is no loss of work capacity. Self-dissolving sutures are used. Two to three months after the procedure, the dark area around the nipple is tattooed to complete breast reconstruction.
By following this process, Catch Life Aesthetic can help patients achieve a more attractive and natural-looking nipple and areola appearance, ultimately completing breast reconstruction surgeries.
