15 Celebrities Who Have Gotten Real About Plastic Surgery

Within the last few years, many more celebrities are willing to share their experiences with plastic surgery. For example, Priyanka Chopra opened up about getting a nose job early in her acting career and the “deep depression” she fell into thereafter. Even more recently, Megan Fox admitted to undergoing three breast augmentation surgeries, and Doja Cat revealed she had gotten liposuction. And there’s more where that came from.

Thankfully, as the years have gone by, the public’s perception of plastic surgery has shifted. Since going under the knife isn’t solely looked at as an activity for the rich and vain anymore, but rather as a personal choice that anybody should be able to make, celebrities have been a lot more forthcoming about the work they’ve had done, whether it’s breast augmentations, nose jobs, or just a few injectables like Botox or filler here and there.

If you’re curious about the plastic and cosmetic treatments some of your favorite celebrities have undergone over the years, keep reading. Everyone from Kylie Jenner to Cardi B have gotten real about the once-taboo topic, including procedures like nose jobs, breast augmentations, and liposuction.

Megan Fox

In a recent episode of the podcast “Call Her Daddy,” Megan Fox opened up about the plastic surgery procedures she’s undergone — as well as the ones she hasn’t: “I feel like there’s this stigma, and I’m not gonna win. . . . However, I’m hoping it sets some people free.” She noted she’s had breast augmentation surgery three times, saying, “I had my boobs done when I was 21 or 22, I had them redone when I was done breastfeeding my kids, and then I had to have them redone very recently because the first set, I didn’t have enough body fat to disguise [the] rippling of the implant, so I had to switch them out to this set.”

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra revealed in her memoir that she received a botched polypectomy early on in her career when her surgeon accidentally shaved the bridge of her nose while trying to remove the tissue. “My original nose was gone. My face looked completely different. I wasn’t me anymore,” she wrote. Chopra has since had several more surgeries to restore her original nose, though she admitted that she’s gotten “accustomed” to her face. “Now when I look in the mirror, I am no longer surprised,” she wrote. “I’ve made peace with this slightly different me.”

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner

After loads of speculation, Kylie Jenner admitted to getting lip fillers when she was 15 on an episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” explaining that she had always felt insecure about having small lips. Despite rumors, she maintains that’s all she’s had done to her face. “People think I fully went under the knife and completely reconstructed my face, which is completely false,” she told Paper in 2019. “I’m terrified! I would never.”

However, on a July 2023 episode of “The Kardashians,” the star admitted to getting a breast augmentation when she was 19, just before having her first child, Stormi. Ultimately, she said she regrets the decision, saying, “I just wish, obviously, that I never got them done to begin with.”

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen revealed to Byrdie back in 2017 that she’s had work done on her entire face, except for her cheeks. “Everything about me is fake except my cheeks,” she said. However, in October 2021, the model underwent buccal fat removal to thin out her cheeks, too. She also admitted in the same interview to having had liposuction under her arms. Additionally, the model got breast implants earlier on in her career that she had removed back in June 2020. “They’ve been great to me for many years but I’m just over it,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’d like to be able to zip a dress in my size, lay on my belly with pure comfort! No biggie!” She also underwent an eyebrow transplant in November 2021.

Cardi B

Cardi B

Cardi B has never been afraid to open up about the changes she’s made to her body before and after fame. In an interview with GQ in 2018, she admitted to getting illegal butt injections when she was 21 after seeing that her colleagues with curvier figures were making more money stripping than she was. At the time, she paid $800 for the injections in a basement apartment in Queens, New York. Later, after giving birth to her first child with husband Offset, she had liposuction and a breast augmentation that she revealed after having to cancel a handful of shows to recover.

Kaley Cuoco

In a cover story for Women’s Health back in 2016, the “Big Bang Theory” alum admitted that she’s had a nose job and her breasts done. “Years ago, I had my nose done and my boobs — best thing I ever did,” she said. “As much as you want to love your inner self . . . I’m sorry, you also want to look good. I don’t think you should do it for a man or anyone else, but if it makes you feel confident, that’s amazing.”

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson

In her memoir, “Open Book,” the singer said that she had two tummy tucks against her doctor’s orders after giving birth. “The surgery wasn’t for weight loss,” she wrote. “I weighed 107 pounds when I planned the surgery. I wanted to get rid of the stretch marks and loose skin left sagging from my back-to-back pregnancies.” Simpson’s doctor was concerned about the first surgery because of the toll that her alcohol and pill addiction had taken on her body. She ended up being fine, but she was still unhappy with the “loose skin that hung over my pants,” so she scheduled a second tummy tuck after, but this time, she had a few complications.

Doja Cat

In March 2023, Doja Cat took to Twitter to talk a little bit about her experience getting plastic surgery. She mentioned getting liposuction on her thighs, as well as breast reduction.

Khloé Kardashian

After years of speculation and scrutiny from fans about whether or not she’d gone under the knife in her career, Kardashian opened up about the plastic surgery she’s had during the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” reunion, which aired after the show’s series finale. “Everyone says, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s had her third face transplant.’ I’ve had one nose job,” she said before explaining that, even after all the interviews she’s done, Cohen was the first person to ask about it.

Bella Hadid

In March, Bella Hadid told Vogue in an interview for its April cover shoot that she regrets getting a nose job at 14 years old. “I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors,” Hadid said. “I think I would have grown into it.”

Kehlani

Kehlani

In a recent interview with Byrdie, Kehlani shared that they had recently removed their breast implants after years of health complications. “I got breast implants about four years ago because I was very much struggling with what beauty meant to me,” they tell the publication. The decision to remove them stemmed from years of sickness like fatigue and joint pain, to name a few, which can sometimes happen to patients who have undergone breast augmentation surgery with silicone implants. Now that the implants are out, Kehlani said, “I actually feel way more beautiful than I ever felt because I feel healthy.”

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton has always kept it real — and that extends to the cosmetic work she’s had done in past, including breast implants, eyelid surgery, and a brow lift. “I wasn’t naturally pretty, so I make the most of anything I’ve got,” she said in an interview with “CBS Sunday Morning.” “I’m not a natural beauty, but I can enhance it. Whatever it takes, I do. I try to make the most of everything.”

Iggy Azalea

Iggy Azalea has spoken publicly about having plastic surgery on more than one occasion. After having work done on her nose and breasts in 2017, she thanked her plastic surgeon via Instagram. The rapper later explained to Ellen DeGeneres that she went under the knife simply because she wanted to. “There was nothing wrong with me,” she said. “I think it’s a personal choice and anybody, man or woman, they should be able to make an informed decision, and if you want to change something, then that’s up to you.”

Ariel Winter

Ariel Winter

Ariel Winter got a breast reduction in 2015. Her decision was the result of a combination of bullying from her peers and physical pain. “Being a 5-foot tall girl and having extremely large breasts is really ostracizing and excruciatingly painful,” she told People. “But I didn’t really express how I felt about that.”

Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer

On Jan. 18, 2022, Amy Schumer opened up about getting liposuction and summed up her current state in three words: “I feel good.” Schumer shared the update with an Instagram photo of her at the beach with a big smile on her face. This wasn’t the first time Schumer opened up about her experience with various cosmetic procedures. In December 2021, she said she’d recently tried facial fillers but ultimately opted to get them dissolved.
